MB Drum Tuition is a local drum tutor offering drum lessons from beginners to intermediates in a well equipped studio with two drum kits and PA system. 

Mark is the founding member and has been studying music and performing as a Semi-Professional musician for over 35 years.

Mark grew up around music starting out as a trumpet player influenced by his dad who was a keen jazz musician and performed in Big bands and Soul bands. Seeing Buddy Rich play live really inspired Mark to play drums.

After moving on from trumpet to drums at a young age Mark played for a wealth of different bands and became a session musician for radio, film and TV. He’s supported artists such as Gloria Gaynor, Jimmy Ruffin, The Housemartins, and toured throughout Europe and the UK for TV gigs and festivals. 

All lessons are friendly, well paced and suitable for all abilities. There is no age limit to learning drums with Mb Drum Tuition and lessons start from as little as £14.

We teach all styles of drumming and students will be taught to play to pre -recorded music, and on some occasions play with other musicians. Students will also learn how to read basic music notation.

Performance is a key part of mb drums with a yearly showcase which is the main focus for all the students. The showcase allows students to gain experience of playing in front of a live audience (usually friends and family, so no huge amount of  pressure).

Playing and learning drums is not just about setting a musical challenge, but improved mental health is one of the benefits of drumming. It is proven that drumming releases endorphins in the brain which create feelings of happiness and euphoria. It puts you in a relaxed state which reduces anxiety and tension.
